When operating as a INGO our activities in Nepal were governed by a General Agreement and Project Agreement with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) of Nepal, both of which were subject to renewal every five years.

These regulated not only the regions of Nepal in which we are authorised to operate in but also the humanitarian areas of activity that we could engage in. Our last five-year plan (2018 – 2022) provided for us to undertake projects in the districts of Humla, Sindhupalchowk, Baglung, Nawalparasi and Makwanpur.

Going forward the centre piece to our project plan for the period 2023 to 2030 is our core health program, which sees us facilitating primary healthcare services through our healthcare team and chain of eight clinics in Humla district. This includes the Little Doctors programme. Our delivery partner for this programme will be SHIP Nepal who have been responsible for running the healthcare programme on our behalf since 2020.

Elsewhere we plan to undertake smaller projects on behalf of donor organisations through our local NGO – The Nepal Development Foundation. These projects are subject to the same monitoring and reporting controls as our main projects projects.
